Global Stage Hollywood, The Town of Higashikawa, and the Province of Alberta are pleased to offer an exclusive screening of "Songs of Kamui" at the Canadian Embassy, June 3rd, 2024
The Ainu people believe that God resides in everything, and have coexisted with Hokkaido's harsh yet rich nature.
Their lifestyle and culture were taken away by the arrival of Japanese people.
There were days of discrimination and persecution when hunting and salmon fishing, which were the source of livelihood, were prohibited, the land they lived on was taken away, and the Ainu language was banned.
